CELLULITE or just an inscription on the skin in Braille: I'AM SEXY AND I KNOW IT
Everyone has it, no one likes it, everyone wants to eradicate it. Okay, it's not the most beautiful thing... but isn't beauty relative?
At your request, I decided to write about it. I have it myself, despite being overweight, but it's not a big deal. That's probably why I've never bothered, but I have quite a few friends who are fighting to find something to get rid of it. Yes, probably also because they are otherwise perfect, at least that's how I see them. It's a shame they don't see it themselves. Because partners or representatives of the opposite sex don't see it, because it really IS NOT IMPORTANT! Those who do see it should thank their testosterone, which literally burns it for them. More on that below.
WHAT IS CELLULITE?
First, it's not too much fat. It actually has more to do with the structure of your skin; no matter your weight, there's a protective layer of fat between the surface of your skin and your muscle. Typically, tissues connect muscle and skin, keeping fat hidden underneath for a smooth appearance on the skin's surface. When factors like age, weight change, or stress weaken those connective tissues, misshapen fat cells push through the skin, causing the skin to look wrinkled or "orange peel."
Does losing weight also cause cellulite?
Not necessarily. Because cellulite is more related to damaged connective tissue than fat, losing fat won't always erase the appearance of cellulite. However, intense exercise and increased water intake can reduce the appearance of cellulite.
What about genetics?
While genetics play a role in whether you have cellulite, other factors such as hormones, stress, poor eating habits, inactivity, and your body weight can also contribute. Certain genes are required for cellulite to develop and are passed down from generation to generation. These include genes for gender, race, slow metabolism, irregular distribution of subcutaneous fat, and inconsistent blood circulation.
There are many studies that confirm that estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline and prolactin are among the hormones that influence the development of cellulite. I can confirm this about genetics. My mother never had it, nor did my grandmother, because it's not like she cared about it back then ;).
But you know that joke: Why don't men have cellulite? Because it's ugly. Yeah, well that's not really the point haha
They can have it, but it's relatively rare. Here are some reasons: Women's connective tissues are thinner than men's connective tissues, and the female hormone estrogen makes fat, while testosterone, a male hormone, burns it. Estrogen also plays a role in blood circulation, which brings nutrients to these connective tissues and helps stimulate collagen production. As you age, estrogen levels naturally decrease, making your body even more susceptible to cellulite.
Diet & lifestyle?
Avoid eating too many unhealthy fats, carbohydrates, salt and not enough fiber, which are said to increase your chances of developing cellulite. Anyway…water, water, water. It is more common in smokers, individuals who do not exercise and those who stand or sit for long periods of time without exercise and breaks. Don't forget about the clothes you wear. Tight elastic underwear, synthetic or leather pants, reduce blood flow to the buttocks and thighs and can affect the formation of cellulite.
I hope some of the information was useful to you, otherwise, girls, have fun, and believe me, cellulite is the least important thing. Let's leave the retouched butts on IG and Fb alone ;), love yours. Treat yourself to the sexiest short skirt and show off your "legs".
I'll soon be preparing some recipes for you on how you can help to soften its appearance naturally for all of you who still can't resist the idea of finding something that would at least soften it a little.
