My uncle, Mr. Google, writes nothing but praise and wonderful things about me. He says I'm miraculous and everything that deserves praise.
But I am not new. I have been used for therapeutic purposes for over 3,000 years. My seeds were found in the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Cleopatra used my oil as a beauty supplement, and Hippocrates decided to use it to relieve digestive disorders...
I admit that I am proud.
It is true that I am also called by other names, such as fennel flower, nutmeg flower, caraway seed, black sesame, and others, but most people know me by the name BLACK CUMIN.
If cosmetic creators like me, they'll list me on their packaging as part of the INCI ingredients: Nigella Sativa Seed Oil.
I am beautiful, it is true that I am an annual, but in my lush growth I bear fruit in my 3-7 pods, with black seeds.
My smell and taste are not the most pleasant. I have a characteristic aroma and a bitter taste.
Do you know why I am part of the best creams and ointments? Because I am unique. In terms of my composition, I am a unique vegetable oil that has no real equivalent. This is also written in one of the best books on natural ingredients/Modern Cosmetics.
My seeds contain 40% oil.
The interesting thing about my oil is the presence of essential oil, which gives the oil medicinal properties, a characteristic smell, and also increases its oxidative stability. The oil is a rich source of linoleic acid (has anti-inflammatory properties, retains moisture in the skin, etc.).
Because I am truly special, my oil is recommended for use on inflamed, allergy-prone skin, including oily and acne-prone skin. In vitro laboratory tests have shown antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. The results of clinical studies on patients with eczematous dermatitis on the hand are also extremely promising. After four weeks of using an ointment with 2% black cumin oil, the symptoms of the disease improved, as much as those who used corticosteroids (well, I don't like them because I don't thin my skin, but they do).
I am such a gentle oil that I always have some other wonderful oil company. My great companion is my brother named oil of borage, svetlin, also currant. To make me more persistent, I am mixed with excellent argan oil.
You can also use me as a stand-alone oil. However, you must follow the instructions.
