When we talk about natural products, whether it's quality food or cosmetics, we come to one and the same question/confrontation with customers. PRICE!
In the first phase, dear customers, we are producers/sellers – BUYERS. In the flood of products, we all try in our own way (some more, some less, again depending on ambitions) to provide you with the best products. I myself strive to ensure that, regardless of the higher price, I will never release a product that will be on the market only to occupy a place in an online or physical store on the shelf and invite you to buy with an attractive low price. What is an expensive natural product for someone, the answer again lies in the preferences and requirements of the buyer. When we talk about synthetic products, there is half as much talk about price. Why?
Because we're all happy to be able to afford them, right ;). And are they also good for our skin? A product that costs 5e on the shelf, but if we're talking about, for example, a face cream, believe me, it doesn't exactly talk about the exciting ingredients, let alone the effects that made us buy it in the first place, it would be better if we didn't, in fact, those 5e are too much. What about a face cream from a well-known brand, the price of which reaches the heights? Do you really think that these are such good and miraculous ingredients? Well, no. You will pay primarily for the NAME. I only read and hear about how expensive natural things are. You say that they should be cheaper than synthetic ones.
Of course, certain creams are essential for our health, whether it's atopic dermatitis and we'd like to see a quality prescription cream. I agree, but I or any other natural care seller can't help here. If anyone wants such a line to occupy pharmacy shelves and be available to patients, it's US. Will they? Probably not. You write to me that you use up products quickly and that therefore the products should be cheaper. For us, the ingredients are not any cheaper. We would prefer to all care for our skin with testers, which we would get in as many numbers as possible in pharmacies and health food stores. With quality cosmetics on a starting budget, my dears, we can't afford testers. I understand why some of you want testers, because you've already tried a lot and wasted money on ineffective things and want to make sure that a certain care will suit you. I've been in your shoes and I understand you, both as a mother and as a manufacturer/seller. But my dears, who will we invest in, if not in ourselves and our children? This path is not cheap. I have been walking this path for a long time and will stay on it until I find help or. a cure/diagnosis. The worst thing is when I see that the most difficult to provide quality care is for parents who buy the best toys and clothes for their children from famous brands, but 20e for a cream that actually helps is too much. Here, priorities are the only thing that matter. What is yours?
In general, I agree that the prices of natural products are higher than commercial products. I know because I have been buying natural products for years, even before I started making natural cosmetics myself. The fact is that as long as people buy cheap products (food, cosmetics), healthy things will be expensive - demand/supply. Believe me, if everyone swore by natural products, prices would not be high, let alone the low wages that are a matter of politics. For the supplier or manufacturer, prices would be lower for larger quantities, and consequently the final or selling price would be lower. But if manufacturers have to buy expensive and high-quality ingredients, we cannot prepare a cheap product from them, unfortunately. There is also VAT, trade, marketing... and if we knew how much we actually get from the product sold, we would burst into laughter or tears. In other words, first of all, politics/bureaucracy, and then raising awareness among customers to buy natural products. Until this changes, people will buy low-quality food and crappy synthetic cosmetics wrapped in beautiful and attractive packaging that will cost more than the contents.
But with natural cosmetics you also have a lower price range, which is made from basic ingredients, or a high class, which can boast all possible certificates of suitability and integrity. Just like with commercial cosmetics, there are many manufacturers on the market offering natural cosmetics that sell and promise miracles, but when you look at the ingredients, you see that you are once again buying something that is not worth your money. That is why I advise you to educate yourself about ingredients and reading declarations (INCI). I have also written quite a bit on this topic in https://skinfairytale.si/shop/2018/04/06/certifikati-naravne-kozmetike/ and https://skinfairytale.si/shop/2018/04/03/katerim-sestavinam-v-kozmetiki-se-je-dobro-izogibati-in-zakaj/ .
Only our personal experience and acquired knowledge can protect us in the flood of offers. To understand what we buy and why we pay as much as we do. Even for me, all this was new at one time. I'm still learning, every day for the benefit of myself, my family and of course, my WALLET ;).
